About
Quinta do Lorde Resort Hotel Marina is a hidden gem on the stunning island of Madeira, nestled in the serene location of Sitio da Piedade, Canical. This upscale resort embodies traditional Madeiran architecture while boasting breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Guests can expect an unforgettable experience marked by exceptional service and a tranquil atmosphere.
As noted by a recent visitor, Afton Bierlich, the hotel goes above and beyond to ensure guest satisfaction. From the moment of arrival, the staff provides a warm welcome, including complimentary drinks and even room upgrades, showcasing their commitment to customer service. The spacious sea-view rooms also leave a lasting impression, offering picturesque views that make each morning a delight.
While some guests, like João Pereira, mention the remoteness of the location and the limited dining options within the resort, they also praise the peaceful environment. The resort's expansive grounds, complete with a marina, private beach, and multiple pools, provide plenty of room for relaxation and leisure. Paul Mccormack highlights the added pleasure of enjoying a glass of wine by the marina as the sun sets, encapsulating the essence of a truly restful getaway.
The amenities at Quinta do Lorde are extensive. Families will appreciate facilities like kid-friendly activities, while adventure seekers can engage in water sports or hiking adventures in the nearby nature reserve, Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço. Additionally, Yaacov Ozer remarked on the generous space of the suites and the convenience of free parking, further enhancing the overall experience.
For dining, guests have mixed experiences. While the breakfast is complimentary and nicely set up, some feel that a wider variety would elevate their stay. Yet, descriptions of freshly grilled octopus and seafood dishes at the marina restaurant spark excitement for culinary enthusiasts, promising delightful gastronomy amidst the resort's stunning scenery.
Overall, Quinta do Lorde Resort Hotel Marina stands out as an elegant sanctuary for travelers seeking relaxation and exploration. With its beautiful setting, quality accommodations, and plenty of activities, it is a place that invites guests to stay a little longer and soak in the tranquility of Madeira.
“ Quinta do Lorde resort was fantastic. It surely exceeded our expectations even for a short stay. We wished we would have booked longer.
They allowed us to check-in early upon request, offering friendly service accompanied with a welcome drink. They also were so nice as to upgrade our room without request or charge to a beautiful sea view room. We couldn’t have gotten luckier with our stay.
They also offer a number of pool amenities along with a private stone beach.
The marina was one of the best parts with a little market and the BEST diving center in Madeira. You never really need to leave the resort.
The only improvement could have been the food. It was by no means bad food, but not as traditional tasting as other restaurants in Madeira.
We would definitely recommend this beautiful but quiet getaway!!!!! ”
“ Despite the fact that it's located on the windiest part of the island, it is really a great place to spend some days, if you like peacefulness. The surrounding area is big and well cared of, but misses some more open businesses. In March we had only available 1 coffee shop and 1 restaurant in all the resort. In a nearby town, Caniçal, there are great fish snacks at really low prices. The rooms are well taken off and the staff are really helpful. ”
“ If you want a quiet peaceful holiday in a beautiful place, the rooms are large and really nice with views over the marina, you can sit outside the captain's bar on the marina enjoying a glass of wine and some food while watching and listening to the yachts bobbing about as the sun goes down. It is very quiet and peaceful here, there is a tennis court and a good dive center, and whale watching trips from the marina, you will need to hire a car to explore the beautiful island with its stunning scenery. The downside of this hotel is that there was not much variety of food in the restaurant. ”
“ This excellent hotel was a real gem in our trip to Madeira. The hotel itself has a big territory, private beach with a pool with ocean water ( and also a regular pool in the territory). We had a suite, which was very nice, big, with comfortable bed and huge bathroom. The hotel offers a free parking, and it is better to have a car if you are staying here, it is far from anything else. Breakfasts are good, some time the refill of the food is coming late, but in general there is nothing to complaint about. You can have a breakfast on the balcony with a spectacular view to the ocean. ”
“ Very nice Resort with a beautiful view from some of the rooms over they bay or little harbour. However the staff (especially the older ladies at the restaurant) is not really polite. The younger staff is very kind and willing to make your stay a great experience. Very good location to start a hike to the east end of the island and to rent a kayak tour to paddle the bay. ”
